Our limited edition collection launches are a collector’s delight! While you can find most of our best-selling products on our website, we regularly curate themed collections of limited edition paints, sketchbooks and brushrolls.
In these collections, we thoughtfully create specialty art supplies in small batches around soulful themes that inspire us.
You’ll find special paints, palettes and sketchbooks + brushrolls covered in limited edition Indian textiles with historic stories behind them.
When the collection goes live, we announce it first to our Insiders Mailing List. We usually sell out of most of our products within an hour or two of going live, most of them scooped by our awesome community on our mailing list (make sure you’re on it, sign up below!)
After the early access to our mailing list, we announce the collection launch on Instagram. Once the products are all gone, they’re gone.
The best way for you to be notified when we go live is to be on our Insiders mailing list - click here to sign up! That way you get a 2-hour early access plus exclusive discounts to collect our limited edition art supplies.
If you’ve got any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us on shop@bluepinearts.com.
We’re honored to be a part of your creative process and can’t wait to ship your “presents” to you. 😉 -

Whether you are eligible for free shipping (on orders above $140 CAD), or you’ve paid for your shipping, we will be shipping your orders presents via India Post, our national postal service and rather-special shipping partner.
Did you know that India Post is the world’s most widely distributed postal system in the world? It’s a historic organization that was established in freaking 1776 by the East India Company. India Post is the backbone of cottage industries and small business in India.
In 2023, Blue Pine Arts shipped so many orders through our little Post Office in our hometown, that our business led to the revival of other small town post offices, which help more creatives and small business owners in turn!
We were honorably mentioned by India’s IT Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw in our Parliament in capital city Delhi. Watch the video here where you’ll hear him mention our Operations head Srishti Karjinni and how she sells handmade watercolors from her home in Belgaum - https://youtu.be/90_fha2B05M?si=Waluoc7MNJcXXlPU&t=252.
This has been an extremely proud moment for us as a company to create a national level impact with our handmade art supplies reaching over 36 countries around the world with India Post. Art really creates a global impact and this is the best example!
Btw have you checked how AFFORDABLE our shipping prices are compared to other countries? We already offer free shipping on orders above $100, but even when you’re charged, our international shipping prices are way cheaper than in most countries.
Fear not, for we've mastered the art of sweet shipping bargains to keep your artist heart light while you enjoy our dreamy art supplies! -
We ship all orders in the order they are received. We do our best to ship orders out within a week of them being placed. If it has been over a week and you have not received a shipping notification, please reach out to us and we’ll help you look into it!
Just a heads-up: We ship Monday through Friday. Weekend orders? No worries! They'll be in our shipping queue come Monday.
IF YOU PLACED A PRE-ORDER - We will begin shipping anywhere between 2-4 weeks of placing your pre-order because it takes a lot of time to pour our paints over multiple layers, and to hand-stitch our sketchbooks. As soon as we ship your orders, you’ll get an email with your tracking number. -
Please check the tracking information you should have received through a shipping confirmation email when your order was shipped. If you can’t find the email or feel it might not have been sent, please email us at shop@bluepinearts.com and we can help look into it!
If your tracking information says that your package has been delivered, but you have not received it - Please submit a missing mail and lost package form with your local post office. We also recommend checking in with your household, mailperson, and neighbors, just in case! If you are unable to resolve the issue with your local post office directly, please reach out to us at shop@bluepinearts.com and we’ll do our best to help.
If your tracking shows “Handed over to Carrier - Mumbai Air” - hang tight! The package is not missing, it’s NOT stuck in India, it has already left India and is just taking its time!
We see this happen every so often and 99% of the time, the package shows up! If you would like to inquire more information, we recommend reaching out to your local post office and giving them a nudge, this usually helps!
Please understand that package delivery is out of our control once it has left our facility. We will do our best to help and make it right if something has happened, but please contact your local USPS directly if you think a package is lost, missing or stolen. We only have as much information as what is provided in your tracking link.
If your package has been returned to us because you didn’t claim it or didn’t pay customs, then we will be happy to reship it to you but shipping charges will apply (even if your initial order had qualified for free shipping.)
If your package hasn’t arrived within 60 days of shipping your order, please email us at shop@bluepinearts.com and we will offer a free replacement (shipping will be borne by the customer). -
Yes, absolutely we do.
We offer FREE worldwide shipping on orders above $140 CAD. (dope, right?)
If your order is below that, you will be charged shipping fees based on the weight of your items and the category they fall in according to India Post, our national logistics partner.
We offer priority shipping at the most affordable shipping prices compared to any other small business around the world (compare for yourself and see!)
No more shipping cost blues!
At Blue Pine Arts, we've mastered the art of sweet shipping bargains to keep your artist heart light while you enjoy our dreamy art supplies! -

Paints
-
Aw, thanks for noticing! Our range of 100+ artist-grade colors are made in small batches using the oldest recipe for watercolors - hand-mulling lightfast pigments with a honey-based binder.
The presence of ethically-sourced honey makes our watercolor rewet like a dream - even after months of disuse. The lack of any fillers or additives gives you a lush load of saturated color with every brush stroke.
Every choice we make in the paint-making process - from using the purest ingredients to taking the time to hand-mull each pigment - is in service to create luxurious, wickedly vibrant colors that excite and enhance your sacred creative practice.
The result? 100+ matte, shimmers and granulating watercolors that glide smoothly on your paper, layer like a dream and make your paintings come alive.
But don’t take our word for it. Try out our superior quality paints and see for yourself!
NO FILLERS ~ LIGHTFAST ~ PROFESSIONAL GRADE ~ PURE PIGMENTS
-
HOW OUR PAINTS BEHAVE IN DIFFERENT WEATHER:
- If you live in a humid climate (like our Belgaum studio in monsoons)
The honey in our paints interacts with the moisture in your air, and our paints might become sticky and wet. If you have mold spores in your air, then the same honey is tasty food for the spores, and your paint might catch mold.
DON’T WORRY THOUGH!
Mold on paints is completely natural and DOESN’T mean the paint has gone bad! You can absolutely use this paint once you wash off the mold. With an old crappy brush, gently wash it off under running water. It’s okay for some pigment to wash off, but trust me, the run off is very less; it just looks like a lot. Then put a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the paint to kill any remaining spores.
Make sure you always air dry your paints, and keep the lid on your palette open at all times. Store your paints in a dry, open space. But let’s be honest - humid climate means you might battle with mold on and off, and this applies to any paint brand. We just gotta deal with it (like we do at the BPA studio in monsoons). It’s futile to fight nature doing its thing.
- If you live in a dry climate (like Trupti does in Calgary)
Congrats, your paints are safe from mold (provided you don’t keep wet paints in a dark, humid place).
However, you might find that some of our paints might become crumbly. That’s because extremely dry weather can suck the moisture from them.
Let’s fix this. Rub some glycerin + honey on your crumbly paints. They’ll reconstitute to become lush again. Remember - the more you use your paints, the more they’ll remain the right consistency.
Some cracks on your paint pans are normal and they do not affect the high performance of our paints at all.
-
Commercial paints are made in huge quantities with gigantic mills. Often commercial manufacturers use fillers and extenders to bulk up the paint quantity.
Our paints are:
- Made with only two things - pure-pigments and honey-based binder. We skip the fillers and extenders that dull paints!
- Mulled in small batches by actual human hands. Based on the types of pigments, sometimes we mull our paints for over 6 hours to make sure every pigment particle is covered with our honey-based binder. This allows us to meet high quality standards.
- Poured into paint pans over multiple layers (they’re not extruded!), which means you get the maximum amount of pigment as physically possible.
- Made with high quality pigments, which means paints are lightfast, archival and professional-grade, making your paintings last 100+ years.
- Made with a personal touch that you can absolutely feel the moment you touch them and make art with them. They feel decidedly better and play really well with other brands too!
All of these factors make every paint pan a pigment powerhouse!
The quality of handmade paints is unparalleled and enhances your art practice so much that our customers have told us they started making MORE art with our paints!
-
Yes, most of our professional-grade paints are extremely lightfast, unless otherwise stated in the listing.
We buy the highest quality pigments and most of our paints are rated at 7 & 8 Blue Wool rating (ASTM rating I), coming under the category of Excellent Lightfastness.
Our Founder, Trupti Karjinni, uses our paints and paper to sell her original artworks. She takes lightfastness extremely seriously to honor her collectors.
Therefore every paint listing on our website will give you complete and transparent information of lightfastness and other pigment characteristics, so that discerning artists like you can make the right choice when you buy our paints.
-
Yes! We restock our single pans (half and full) as and when we have them ready.
If the paints you want aren’t in stock, simply sign up to be notified with the option we provide in the listing, and you’ll be the first to know when they’re back in stock!
We are also working on introducing a Palette Builder that you can use to curate your own custom palettes with our single pan colors. Please join our Insiders Mailing List to know when we launch that!
-
Our binder formulation contains sustainably-sourced local wild honey. It’s a teeny-tiny amount and a jar of honey usually lasts us ages. We do not use any other insect (or animal) products in our paint-making process.
-
Are our paints splurge-worthy? Absolutely. But there’s a solid reason for that!
Our premium pricing boils down to two key factors:
- top-notch ingredients, and
- handcrafted labor from scratch.
In our studio in Belgaum, India, our team of talented women meticulously handcrafts every paint pan and sketchbook in small batches. We steer clear of fillers and extenders, unlike those mass-producing paint factories.
Why do our products stand out and last longer? It's all about quality over quantity. We load our paints with costly ingredients like lightfast pigments and a honey-based binder, layering them over weeks to maximize vibrancy and longevity. Each paint pan is a pigment powerhouse - you literally get the highest amount of pigment possible. This significantly affects the price.
Our papers are pure cotton too, no corrosive wood pulp in sight. Adorned with historic Indian textiles, our sketchbooks and brushrolls are a nod to tradition and skill.
Even our packaging is purposeful: reusable cotton bags stitched by Rajasthani women from upcycled fabric waste.
From start to finish, every element is hand-crafted by skilled artisans in India - paints, papers, sketchbooks, brushrolls, fabrics, packaging, printing, handwritten notes, and more! They use traditional, labor-intensive methods and techniques to transform these materials into our products.
Further, we pay our wonderful team a living wage AND provide them benefits and paid time off. We treat our team the way we would want to be treated ourselves. And did we mention FREE worldwide shipping? It's not cheap or easy, but worth it for your watercolor practice.
-
Absolutely. But, they'll save you money in the long run because they last a LOT longer, sparing you from wasted $$$ on chalky paints and yellowing paper.
We take pricing very seriously and price our products fairly. That means we have set prices that allow us to operate our business and pay our team without overcharging our customers, which we believe is equally unethical. We know how hard you work for your money, and we deeply respect that. It's a responsibility we take to heart when you choose to invest your earnings in our products, and for that, we're incredibly grateful.
At the end of the day, you get more than what you pay for, and we're honored to be your choice. We are so grateful to our amazing customers who make us a part of their sacred creative practice, and we're endlessly amazed by the stunning art you create with our colors.
-
Watercolor paints don’t expire, whether they’re commercially made or handmade. You will find vintage watercolor palettes decades of years old and they still operate just as good (although they’ll be a bit harder.)
Our professional-quality, artist-grade watercolors are made with pure pigments and honey-based binder. Just 2 ingredients and no additives. These are the purest forms of watercolor paint. They will last decades too (although I hope you use them all before that!)
As handmade paint-makers, we lean towards creating commonly-used colors used by professional watercolorists around the world, as well as our home blends created by our Founder, Trupti, who is an expert watercolorist and Color Maker. She uses these paints to create archival artworks in her own professional practice.
That’s why you’ll find all the accurate info like pigment codes, lightfastness, staining properties and opacity for every color on our website. ❤️
Once you collect our paints, you are guaranteed to enjoy them over the course of many, MANY paintings.
Papers
-
You bet! Regarded by watercolorists as one of the best watercolor papers available, our paper is handmade from 100% cotton rag, 220gsm, cold press rough, and is made to high archival standards.
Our paper is an extremely high-quality, reliable surface with deckled edges that is handmade in an age-old Indian paper mill.
Artists are always puzzled to find that our signature watercolor paper makes it almost impossible to get blotchy washes with the dreaded cauliflower.
Even though it’s 220gsm, it accepts multiple heavy washes and withstands scrubbing, allowing you to really play with your techniques and paint in a carefree manner.
Our paper's signature Cold Press Rough texture is created using natural woolen felts. The result is an exquisite paper that’ll turn your “I quit” to “I can’t resist” when it comes to watercolors.
Brushrolls
-
100% yes! Trupti has tested this on many of her rigorous international travels over 5 years and our brushrolls have kept her brushes safe every single time.
-
With an inside lining of thick canvas and snug Khadi cotton pockets, our brushrolls protect delicate brushes with their sturdy build quality.
Whether your brushes are thin or chonky, short or tall, our brushes have perfectly snug pockets for all of them. You can also fit our tin palettes and sketchbooks in the larger pockets.
Now you can keep your brushes safe on any plein air painting trips, urban sketching adventures, house moves or from a furry friend who might chew up your expensive tools!
Our brushrolls are always a limited edition release in curated collections where we source regional and historic textiles all over India with their own powerful stories that go back centuries.
Artists call our brushrolls work of art in themselves and have become collectors items. We designed our iconic brushrolls to protect your delicate (and expensive) watercolor brushes while also adding elegant beauty to your creative practice.
Our brushrolls are always a limited edition release in curated collections where we source regional and historic textiles all over India with their own powerful stories that go back centuries.
Make sure you’re signed up to our Insiders list for first access because these always sell out. And if you happen to see one in the shop, make it yours before someone else does. With our premium craftsmanship, these tools will last you till your grandchildren are ready to inherit them.
