Is Blue Pine Arts closing forever? | Part 3
Okay, after announcing that I'm closing Blue Pine Arts, I figured I should answer the actual practical questions: WHAT DOES HIBERNATION MEAN?! 😂
So here we go.
Quick note: If you haven't read the story behind this decision yet, you can start with part 1 of this three part blog series: I'm Closing Blue Pine Arts.
Are You Actually Closing Blue Pine Arts?
Yes.
The Blue Pine Arts online shop closes on December 31st, 2026, at 11:59 PM MT, and we're stopping our operations indefinitely.
This is not a drill!
Is Blue Pine Arts Gone Forever?
What Happens With The Blue Pine Arts Shop Until December 31st?
The shop remains open until December 31st, 2026, at 11:59 PM Mountain Time.
Our Sunset Sale is your chance to get the handmade supplies we've created over the years before our online shop goes into hibernation.
You can explore the remaining collection of handmade paints, watercolor paper, sketchbooks, and brushrolls, along with eligible watercolor courses, on our website.
As products sell out, we can't guarantee we'll restock them.
And while I'm hopeful that the right person might someday carry Blue Pine Arts into its next chapter, I can't promise when or whether that will happen.
For now, I'm focusing on giving this chapter the ending it deserves.
Will You Make More Products Before You Close?
We have planned final production, and some very special things are still coming, including our Blue Pine Arts Legacy Collection.
But once existing products sell out, you should not assume they're coming back into stock.
Our production capacity is finite, and December 31st is the end date.
If you've had your eye on a particular handmade watercolor palette, individual color, sketchbook, paper size, or brushroll, you can explore our remaining handmade art supplies while they're still available.
Some of these products may genuinely be the last ones we make under my ownership.
Should I Buy My Favorite Supplies Now Or Wait For Bigger Discounts?
That depends entirely on what you're shopping for.
During our Blue Pine Arts Sunset Sale, discounts on eligible products are applied automatically at checkout, so there's no coupon code needed.
As we move closer to closing, discounts on whatever inventory remains will become deeper.
But the inventory will also become much smaller.
So if you have a specific palette, sketchbook, paper size, or color that you've wanted for ages, I would not gamble on it still being there.
If you're flexible and simply want whatever bargains remain at the end, absolutely wait.
No weird sales games from me. I want you to make the decision that actually makes sense for you.

What Is The SHIPPING Situation?
One More Thing...
All Sunset Sale purchases are final, as we sell through our remaining inventory and materials. Since our products are handmade, natural variations and minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect performance are not considered defects.
Can somebody actually BUY Blue Pine Arts?
Are You Disappearing Too?!
Okay, So... What ARE You Doing Next?
This part is actually really exciting.
Over the years, something funny happened while Nahush and I were busy building Blue Pine Arts.
Artists started coming to us asking:
How did you launch that? How did you build your email list? How are you selling your courses? How did you set up all this tech without losing your mind?
And somewhere along the way, we became accidentally known amongst artists for the business-building side of what we were doing.
Because one thing we got REALLY good at over the last nine-and-a-half years is launching.
Blue Pine Arts was profitable right out of the gate because from our very first product collections, I was launching instead of simply putting products on a website and hoping people found them.
Then I launched my first watercolor course.
And another. And another.
I learned how to build an email list, create anticipation, tell stories, invite people into an experience, sell on Instagram and email, and build systems around all of it.
At the beginning, I didn't even know words like “launch strategy” or “conversion.”
I was basically doing monkey-see-monkey-do with businesses I admired, experimenting wildly and paying very close attention to what worked. 😂
Almost ten years later, this has become something I genuinely specialize in.
Because great art products don't sell themselves. Great courses don't sell themselves. Great launches do.
And that is what Nahush and I are now building together through Art & Grit Co.
We help artists who already have something valuable to teach turn their courses, memberships, workshops, retreats, and educational ideas into businesses that actually support their creative lives.
If you're an artist who loves teaching, or you've been thinking, I really want to create an online course someday..., you can find us at Art & Grit Co. on Instagram.
You can also take my free Craft Your Course Curriculum mini workshop, where I'll walk you through how to turn what you know into a clear, teachable course curriculum without stuffing every single thing you've ever learned into one gigantic course. 😂
But What If I'm Here Because I Just Want To Paint With You?
PLEASE stay. 🥹
The watercolor teaching side of my work isn't disappearing either.
If you want to keep learning watercolor with me, you can join my free Watercolor Trees Challenge for painting tutorials and resources.
I'll still be painting, teaching, and sharing my creative adventures, wherever in the world Nahush, the cats, and I happen to be.
And if you're interested in both watercolor painting AND building a creative business, you're welcome in both worlds.
I certainly am. 😂
